Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA)
The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), often called the Dow, is a price-weighted stock market index that tracks 30 of the largest and most established publicly traded companies in the United States. Created in 1896 as a barometer for the U.S. stock market, the DJIA is one of the world's oldest and most widely monitored indices.
